ApprovabilityVerdict: Approved at Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This PR reorganizes existing replay integration tests into provider-specific files and updates CI shard weights; the shared runner and provider tests execute only in the test environment. No production behavior, product defaults, or static-analysis configuration is changed. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |
Thread transfer impact✅ Thread transfer remains within every enforced ceiling.
Baseline: Scenario and decoded snapshot size10 historical turns, 5 command tools per turn, 878.9 KiB retained MCP result per historical turn, and a 1.05 MiB retained result in the measured turn.
Updated in place by a trusted workflow. PR artifacts are strictly validated and never executed. |

📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Make a missing fixture fail the suite instead of skipping its regression tests.
The block at Line 114 registers its three tests only when findReplayFixture("claude_background_subagent_after_root") returns a fixture. If someone renames or removes that fixture, the suite drops the Bash streaming test and both #16486 regression cases. No test fails, and CI still reports success.
ProviderReplayFixtures.ts (Lines 25-27) already guards against this exact failure for unmapped drivers. That module comment says a fixture that "would silently never run" must make loading fail. The lookups in these files should follow the same rule:
CursorReplayFixtures.integration.test.ts(Lines 16-19).OpenCodeReplayFixtures.integration.test.ts(Lines 39-43), which returns[]when a fixture is missing.

Another option is to make findReplayFixture throw when the name has no match. That fixes all three files at once.

Brings in upstream through ca049dc. - Upstream split the replay fixtures by provider (pingdotgg#22717). personal-fixes.json now runs MuseReplayFixtures.integration.test.ts, which holds the Muse transcripts that carry the final-answer instruction. - Sync working notes: point personal fixes at renamed test files, and drop the telemetry env workaround now that tests run in a clean env (pingdotgg#22714).

Problem
OrchestratorReplayFixtures.integration.test.tsran all 141 replay fixtures for 8 providers in one file. A focused run took 82 s on BeeBox (107 s on Mainbook), and it was the heaviest entry in the shard weights (44.6 s), so the weighted sequencer could not spread it across CI shards.Change
testkit/ProviderReplayFixtures.ts, unchanged.ClaudeReplayFixtures.integration.test.ts. Each file loads only its own adapter harness.restart_activeto Cursor, the undecodable execution-start tests to OpenCode, and the background-subagent tests to Claude.ProviderReplayFixtures.tsthrows if a fixture uses a driver that has no test file, so a new driver cannot be skipped silently. No warning for unweighted files: the script drops files under 0.5 s on purpose, so about half the files have no weight by design, and the warning would always fire.
Verification
All on BeeBox (Linux x64, 16 cores),
vp test run <file>:OrchestratorReplayFixturesfileParallelism: false. The extra ~8 s is per-file startup. CI shards and focused runs get the gain.vpr typecheckinapps/serverandvp linton the changed files pass.Changes made by Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code, running in T3 Code.
