feat(clients): reach one environment over several routes - #15467
Conversation
A saved environment held exactly one connection route, so pairing a machine over the LAN replaced its T3 Connect route and vice versa. Users who want LAN at home and T3 Connect or Tailscale away had to pick one. An environment now keeps an ordered list of routes (LAN, Tailscale, public URL, SSH, T3 Connect). The driver checks every direct route's public descriptor in parallel, skips the silent ones, and connects over the first that works; a blocked route (signed out, revoked) moves on instead of stopping. While on a fallback, the supervisor preflights better routes on network changes, app foregrounding, and every minute, and replaces the session when one would connect, with a cooldown for routes that answer but fail. Mobile and web report a network path change (Wi-Fi to cellular) so a dead LAN socket is dropped promptly. Pairing another address or adding T3 Connect to a saved machine adds a route; signing out of T3 Connect only drops that route. Settings lists the routes with reorder and remove on web, desktop, and mobile. GitHub routing trust covers the whole route list. The catalog stays schema version 1: routes are consecutive targets with the same environment id. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

ApprovabilityVerdict: Not approved Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — This PR adds multi-route connection management across the shared runtime, persistence, onboarding, and web/mobile clients, including automatic fallback and preferred-route switching. It also changes default connection behavior and route trust/credential handling, making human review necessary. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

- A failed unchecked route (signed-out T3 Connect) no longer stops a silent LAN route from being tried; silent routes are tried last. - When any route failed transiently, report that instead of a blocked error, so the supervisor keeps retrying a route that may come back. - Removing an environment's last route happens under the same lease lock, so a route registered meanwhile is not deleted with it. - Bearer route ids use the full origin, so http and https pairings of one host are separate routes. - Tailscale IPv6 addresses (fd7a:115c:a1e0::/48) rank as tailnet. - Web reports a network change only when the connection type changes, not on every bandwidth estimate; mobile seeds the current type so the first Wi-Fi to cellular move is noticed. - After updating an outdated host, the resume poll checks every direct route, not only the one that carried the update. - Onboarding no longer offers a T3 Connect checkbox for a machine already saved over another route. - Mobile route rows announce the route, address, in-use state and position to screen readers; the user doc describes silent-route fallback accurately. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The Routes submenu needed two levels of menus to move one route, and adding a route meant knowing that pairing the same machine again would merge. - Web and desktop: the machine's row shows "N routes" next to its status; clicking it expands an inline list. Drag the grip (or use the keyboard) to reorder, remove a route with its x, and "Add route" opens the pairing dialog scoped to that machine, with T3 Connect offered when the account can reach it. - Mobile: the environment detail screen's Routes section has Edit, which shows drag handles (VoiceOver gets Move up / Move down) and remove buttons, and "Add route" opens the pairing screen for that machine. - Pairing for a route refuses an address that reaches a different machine, before spending the one-time code. Upstream's saved-route model (pingdotgg#15467, pingdotgg#15468) now carries the cube connect-when-needed policy; tests move to vite-plus/test.
Upstream: several routes per environment (pingdotgg#15467/pingdotgg#15468), T3 MCP tools take explicit thread/project targets (pingdotgg#15219), reject accidental server launches (pingdotgg#15795), renderer history, preview console object release, file-link repair reverted (pingdotgg#15824), and assorted mobile/PR/server fixes. Fork reconciliation: - computer_send and the Codex monitor toolkit read the caller from the new McpInvocationScope.thread (client callers are refused). - `t3 <dir>` skips the desktop launch when a live server is recorded, so upstream's running-server refusal still applies. - Desktop quit also flushes renderer history after stopping Computer History. - Fork's inline visualizations render the raw message text now that the file-link repair is gone. - isApplicationActiveWakeup stays exported for the fork's probe-reset path. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Upstream's background service listens on loopback only, so a headless host is not reachable on the local network and never reports a LAN address for clients to learn as a route. `t3 service install --host <address>` writes the listen address into the launchd plist or systemd unit, and every later install, including `t3 update`, reads it back and keeps it. Learning addresses and failing over between them is upstream's (pingdotgg#15467, pingdotgg#15468), which replaced the fork's own phone-side fallback. Fork-Feature: FORK-LAN-001

Closes #10940 (routes and fallback; learned addresses follow in the stacked PR).
Problem
A saved environment held exactly one connection route. Pairing a machine over the LAN replaced its T3 Connect route and vice versa, so a user who wants LAN at home and Tailscale or T3 Connect away had to pick one.
Fix
An environment now keeps an ordered list of routes (LAN, Tailscale, public URL, SSH, T3 Connect).
expo-networktype changes) and web (navigator.connection) report a network path change, so a dead LAN socket is dropped within the quick probe timeout.targetsentries with the same environment id, so an existing catalog is one environment with one route.Surfaces: web, desktop and mobile share the runtime change; Settings UI on all three. Providers are unaffected.
Verification
Verified in the running app
Web dev server against a seeded copy of real data, paired to a second host server on this machine over its LAN address. The Tailscale route was learned automatically (#15468).
Routes stay folded away under the machine's row until you open "2 routes":
Dragging Tailscale to the top (LAN stays In use until the next switch):
Fallback behaviour (these two were taken before the inline list replaced the Routes submenu; the row subtitle is unchanged):
Before this change the row had no route list: one saved address per machine, and pairing another address replaced it.
